Mukri Biography

Mukri was one of the successful comedians of Hindi cinema during 50’s and 60’s. He along with Johny Walker and Mehmood form the trio of comedians in the golden era of Hindi cinema.

Starting from 1945 Dilip Kumar movie Pratima, in career spanning 50 years, he acted in over 600 films.

He can be named a legend of Hindi cinema who has seen all the progressive achievements of Hindi cinema since middle 40’s. He is remembered most for the movies - Mother India (1957), Kohinoor (1960), Milan (1968), Bombay to Goa (1972), Gopi (1972), Amar Akbar Anthony (1977), Lawaris (1981) and Sharabi (1984).

His unique acting skills, mannerisms, flexibility, perfect timing and toothless smile made him an iconic figure among the comedians of Bollywood cinema.
